Chicago Criminal attorney comments on Lil' Wayne's latest infraction

This Chicago Criminal attorney has posted here about the delay in Lil’ Wayne’s sentencing.  While he was ultimately sentenced, he is in trouble for violating the rules at Rikers.

Rapper Lil Wayne's efforts to keep up the beat behind bars have gotten him into trouble at Rikers, authorities say.

The performer, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, might face discipline after officers reported finding a charger and headphones for an MP3 player in his cell on Monday, said a Correction Department spokesman.

Carter is serving a yearlong sentence on a 2007 gun rap. His lawyer had no immediate comment.

Officers said the music player itself turned up in another inmate's nearby cell. Both men were charged with infractions that are not crimes. They'll be addressed through a jail disciplinary process, not a court.

The odd thing about this particular offender is that the contraband in question is essential for his legitimate work purposes.  Perhaps this will prevent future visits from other celebrities who are trying to get as much work done as possible, even though Carter is incarcerated
